Starbucks just made our summer with the mini Frappuccino
In today’s installment of Frappuccino news, Starbucks now offers mini-sizes of our favorite frozen coffee treat. What a relief it is to have more options when deciding how to satisfy our frozen coffee needs.
It’s been a big year for Frappuccinos with the addition of the Birthday Cake and S’mores options, but now you don’t have to settle for a tall, grande or venti. As the AP reports, you can now get your Frappuccino desires fulfilled in a 10-ounce serving, compared to 12 ounces in the tall size.
This simple tweak has actually made Frapp-drinking a wee bit healthier: the newly-sized drink is only 120 calories—60 calories lighter than the tall size. It’s also got 24 grams sugar, which is significantly less than the 36 grams found in a cup size up. And did we mention it’s priced at 20 to 30 cents cheaper than the tall size? That leaves some extra pennies over for Frapp cookies. Just saying.
Starbucks isn’t the only major American brand to consider downsizing their portions. Yahoo News also reports that both Sonic and Coke are promoting mini-versions of some of their products.
While Starbucks reps aren’t saying whether this change is for good, we know these mini Frapps are available at least until July 6.
Frappuccinos are awesome. More options are awesome. Combine those two and we might just be poised for the best summer ever.
