Starbucks is testing a completely new lunch menu, and we’re drooling

Starbucks always manages to keep us guessing with their marketing moves. After all, they already have a beloved breakfast menu with classic coffee drinks, holiday features and of course, that epic secret menu. In fact, people are so psyched about the coffee giant that anything new sparks a frenzy: New drinks on the menu, for instance, are massively celebrated, with people heading out ASAP to get their own and — of course  — Instagram it.

Well get ready, because the chain’s newest items will keep you around for lunch.

Starting April 11th, more than 100 Starbucks locations in Chicago will feature brand new grab-and-go salads and sandwiches. Eventually, the new items will be available nationwide

There’s even a charitable side to this menu as excess food will be donated.

Called Mercato, the brand-new lunch menu will feature vegan, gluten-free, and high-protein options prepared at a local kitchen and delivered each morning to Starbucks’ coffee shops.

There is a mix of hot and cold sandwiches to chow down on plus seriously delicious-looking side salads.

Eater got an inside scoop on some of the lunchables, and we got hungry just reading about them! New sandwiches include an almond butter, strawberries and jam sandwich, and an herbed chicken and fig spread concoction. Amazing-sounding new salads include roasted carrot and kale, and a cauliflower tabbouleh side salad.

While we wait for these to be available nationwide, we’ll have to settle with sipping on that new Toasted Coconut Cold Brew.
