Starbucks has BIG news, and we cannot contain our excitement
Fear not, Starbucks lovers! The beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially back on the market. According to CNBC, the Starbucks PSL is back at Starbucks locations nationwide as of today, Sept. 1. Even better news? Starbucks is also releasing an awesome new twist on a favorite fall classic. This season’s newest drink is the Chile Mocha, which from the name alone, sounds pretty amazing to me.
If you need a little refresher on what goes into the beauty that is the PSL, the drink includes espresso, steamed milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and yes, real pumpkin. If the weather is still scorching where you are, you can also order the PSL as a Frappuccino. In terms of the Chile Mocha, according to Fortune, the drink is comprised of espresso, steamed milk, cocoa, and cinnamon pepper. You can also order this drink as a Frappuccino, or as a hot chocolate. It’s worth noting that these drinks officially launch as of Sept. 6th, but you can allegedly pop into Starbucks stores today and order them, as well.
What was the inspiration for bringing these fall drinks to the market? Michelle Sunquist, Starbucks’ senior product developer, explains in a statement: “When we think about fall, often people think about warmth and spice, like cinnamon and apple pie. We decided to take that idea in a new direction with chocolate and a bit of heat,” which makes sense, given the “chile” twist on the classic mocha.
