5 moments that made us insanely worried for Rey in this “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” behind-the-scenes footage

Disney’s D23 Expo offered a sneak peek behind the scenes of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It gave us all of the feels with some new interviews and footage, but also got us a little worried for the future of Rey. What danger awaits our hero in this next episode?!

At Star Wars Celebration in April, we got to see the first teaser for The Last Jedi and it certainly looked like Rey would be in some perilous situations. But after seeing the latest behind-the-scenes footage, we’re getting even more scared for her. Specifically, here are some moments that have us worried about Rey:

1What is the red stuff? Is it blood, yes or no?

One of the very first shots of the behind-the-scenes video is an intense wave of red liquid overwhelming the cameras and we’re really hoping it’s not blood. Because in order for there to be that much blood, a lot people would be dead and that’s not a good sign for Rey. Okay, so it’s probably not blood — but goodness, what is it then?!

2Daisy Ridley says: “Some of the stuff that happens, people are gonna be like, ‘Oh my god’.”

Rian Johnson is the director of The Last Jedi and according to Daisy Ridley, he has some unexpected twists up his sleeves. Since Rey is currently the obvious hero of the trilogy, we’re thinking this could hugely impact her — and maybe not in a good way. Will there be a huge twist? Does it have to do with Rey’s parents? We have so many questions.

3Rey running really intensely with a lightsaber, cause that seems safe.

We get a lot of great insight into how the action scenes are shot in the video. Like here, we see Daisy running around a lot and she looks like she has her game face on. Hopefully, it’s just part of her training with Luke, but what if she’s actually in the midst of a battle with Kylo?!

4Is that Rey jumping into the water? But seriously, can she swim?

There are a couple underwater shots in the behind-the-scenes video and it looks like Rey could be the one diving into the water. But she grew up on Jakku — a desert planet. Does Rey know how to swim? Considering she is probably training with Luke on a giant cliff above water, we’re hoping she doesn’t fall in. That would be dangerous.

5Hold up, there are three people coming at her with lightsabers.

It seems like Rey is going to be in some epic lightsaber battles with not one, not two, but THREE opponents. Sure, she proved her skills battling Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens, but fighting off three baddies is a whole other story.

Watch the video yourself and try to extract other scary details, because we just need to know everything.
