Hold up, did we just learn when “Star Wars” Land is going to open at Disneyland?
When is it officially TOO early to start planning a vacation for next year? Maybe it is in fact too early… but then again, this involves Star Wars Land, and it feels like we’ve been waiting for this our whole life.
Earlier this year, Disneyland, in Anaheim, California, closed down a few attractions in the park to make way for Star Wars Land construction. Mainly, the closures affected things along the Rivers of America in Frontierland/New Orlean’s Square/Critter Country, like the Mark Twain Riverboat and the Disneyland Railroad. The location of Star Wars Land is nestled right up against those things, so it only makes sense if they take a breather while the Millennium Falcon is put into place, you know?
WELL, yesterday, Disneyland announced that they’re going to re-open all those attractions in the Summer of 2017.
“What does this have to do with Star Wars Land?” You ask, and the answer is: EVERYTHING.
If the area around the Rivers of American is good to go for next year, that means that Star Wars Land can’t be far behind!!
Disneyland isn’t going to go ahead and open up an area that isn’t ready for guests, and they’re certainly not going to open up an area that doesn’t ~look pretty~. The Disneyland Railroad will actually pass right by Star Wars Land, which means that if it’s operational, Star Wars Land has to either be up and running, too, or like 98% of the way there. This is a good thing!!
Obviously, Disney hasn’t announced anything official about the opening of Star Wars Land, but the timing makes sense. Even if it’s not until late Summer/early Fall, it’ll still be well before Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters. That’s in 503 days, on December 15th, 2017.
