Disney released an eight-second tease of the new Star Wars Hotel, and it’s so beautiful it belongs among the clouds
Unless you’ve been frozen in carbonate for the past year or so, you’ve heard the stellar news that Disney is building a brand new hotel at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The cool (amazing, exciting, glorious) thing about this new hotel is that it’s not just any hotel — it’s a Star Wars themed hotel. Even better, it’s an immersive Star Wars hotel.
Guests staying at the still-untitled resort will actually live out a Star Wars adventure, from the moment they step foot on the property up until the moment they have to leave and return back to the real world. Think, Westworld. Really, the only thing to compare this new hotel to is Westworld, because you will literally become a part of the story (just hopefully without dueling timelines, murderous robots, hidden doors, mazes, etc.).
The D23 Expo at Tokyo Disney Resort is happening right now, and the Disney Parks Blog released an updated description of the new hotel:
"At the resort, guests immediately become active citizens of the galaxy and can dress up in the proper attire. Every resort window will also have a view into space. The opportunity for immersion at this resort will also stand out among all Disney resorts around the globe, as it will be seamlessly connected to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, allowing guests a total Star Wars experience."
Not only that, Disney also released a short concept *video* showing us the hotel. This is more than likely a lobby area, and we can see guests (and aliens) mixing and mingling together. And yes, those *are* X-Wings and TIE-fighters flying around outside.

The Star Wars hotel is slated to open at the same time as Star Wars Land Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World, which is slated to be sometime in 2019 (Disneyland’s Star Wars Land is opening up first, FYI). So start saving your pennies, or hope you strike it rich playing a game of Sabacc.
