Fangirls rejoice: CoverGirl is releasing ‘Star Wars’ makeup
When you think of Star Wars promotional tie-ins, you probably think of things like action figures, Legos, and lightsabers. Well, not anymore. While those things will still be on the shelves as we get closer to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (125 days away!!), there’s going to be one other MUST HAVE item on the SW list: the absolutely amazing Star Wars Cover Girl line. These new looks are going to make even Queen Amidala jealous.
There have been rumblings of a Star Wars-inspired line for a while, but now Cover Girl has dropped all of the amazing deets on us. The line will feature lipstick, mascara, and nail polish all inspired by the upcoming movie. So depending on your mood, and favorite Star Wars movie of the day (it can change daily, OK?) you might want to throw on the metallic gold lipstick and channel your inner C3PO. Or paint your nails in the grey-metallic “Speed of Light” shade, and pretend your actually about to jump to light speed every time you glimpse your nails as you send a text.
The limited edition mascara is where it really gets interesting. The Star Wars line has both regular and waterproof mascara, each themed to either the dark side, or light side, respectively. Each tube also comes with a quote from one of the movies (including a few mysterious quotes from The Force Awakens we haven’t heard yet. INTERESTING). The quotes will do wonders for life inspiration while you’re putting on makeup, especially if you’re holding the tube that reads, “Do or do not. There is no try.” Thanks, Yoda!
On top of just dropping this amazing line on us, Cover Girl has partnered with makeup artist Pat McGrath to create six looks inspired by the film, and we are in LOVE. The first two have just been released — Droid and Stormtrooper — with the last four coming in September along with all these must-have beauty products for fall. Please let one of the upcoming looks be Cloud City Chic. Or Gungan Grunge. Please.
The Star Wars Cover Girl line goes on sale September 4th, aka Force Friday. That’s the day ALL things Star Wars blast into stores. You’re not going to want to miss out on these gorgeous shades.
