Here’s the touching tribute “Star Wars” gave Carrie Fisher, and it will have you laughing and crying

It’s hard not to talk about Star Wars without also talking about Carrie Fisher. The Rebel and Princess General has left a lasting impression on people all around the world galaxy, and even though she’s gone, her legacy continues on. It’s completely fitting that this year, Star Wars Celebration paid tribute to the late, wonderful actor/activist/all-around badass with a ridiculously touching montage.

Do you have tissues ready? Get some tissues ready. You’re going to need them.

Star Wars mastermind George Lucas, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, and Carrie’s daughter, Billie Lourd, all took to the stage during the Star Wars 40th Anniversary Panel to reflect on just how much Carrie meant to the world. In her speech, Billie put it best when she declared that Carrie loved all of us — just as much as we loved her.

The short reel they screened for the audience used years-old audition footage, scenes from the set of the the OG Star Wars trilogy, and included some from the most recent one, The Last Jedi — which is also, sadly, Fisher’s last on-screen apperance. The reel also includes moments of Carrie just being Carrie, like mouthing off during interviews or hilarious roasting Lucas. While we love Leia to the stars and back, it’s hard not to simply and unabashedly love Carrie for just being so Carrie. They’ll never be anyone else quite like her.

If you need a good, solid cry today, this is for sure it. We’ll keep her in our hearts from now, until forever.
