John Stamos is as bummed as we are that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won’t be in the “Full House” reboot

When we heard over the weekend that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are NOT going to be in the Netflix-fueled reboot of “Full House” over the weekend, we were super sad. And turns out we weren’t the only ones: John Stamos is positively bummed that the twins won’t be in “Fuller House.”

How does Stamos, a.k.a. Uncle Jesse feel about it exactly? He summed it up pretty well on Twitter:

“I understand they’re in a different place and I wish them the best,” Stamos elaborated in another post. “I promise you will not be disappointed with our reunion and spin off!!”

The twins have not made a public statement but, to be fair to them, neither seems focused on acting at the moment. Ashley hasn’t acted since 2010’s “I’m Still Here,” and Mary-Kate hasn’t appeared onscreen since 2011’s “Beastly.” They also seem super busy with all their fashion lines (“The Row,” “Elizabeth and James,” their collabs with J.C. Penney and StyleMint, the list goes on…) It’s entirely possible that the Olsens aren’t snubbing the show, but just aren’t doing the acting thing right now, which is totally okay, live your lives and be free, ladies, we’ll miss you, but we’ll understand.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of ‘Fuller House,’ I know how much ‘Full House’ has meant to them and they are still very much considered family,” executive producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement. “It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards ‘Fuller House.’”

So yeah, we’re not getting Mary-Kate and Ashley back as Michelle which is bummer-times news before, but let’s look on the bright side: WE’RE GETTING A FULL HOUSE REBOOT! DJ, Stephanie, Kimmy, Uncle Jesse and Uncle Joey are all coming back for sure! And talks are underway with Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin to reprise their roles as Danny and Rebecca! There is so much “Full House” awesomeness in store for us. We’ll of course miss Michelle Tanner, but we’re super-stoked to hang with the rest of the gang!
