A springtime wreath for St. Patrick’s Day? D-I-Why not?
Surprise! It’s March! Time to fill out those brackets and (finally) dust off those spring outfits. And whether you’re 100% Irish or not, you might be getting ready to celebrate the greenest of holidays, St. Patrick’s Day.
This week’s DIY helps you prep for St. Patrick’s Day by making a sweet little wicker wreath. You’ll just need a few faux clovers or flowers, some pretty green ribbon, and a needle and thread. This wreath will have your space feeling springtime-fresh in no time!
Materials:
- 11 inch wicker wreath
- Fabric clovers or flowers with four petals
- 5/8-inch wide green satin ribbon
- Green thread
- Basic sewing needle
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
Craft away:
- Snip several of the clovers or flowers off of the main bunch. Leave a short stem on each.
- Cut a couple of feet of green thread and fold it in half, then thread the needle and tie a knot.
- Wrap the stems of the clovers around the twigs of the wreath, and use the needle and thread to sew them in place. You can space the clovers as far apart or as close together as you like, but leave a 5-inch gap uncovered on the wreath.
- Measure and cut a 20-inch long piece of the ribbon. Tie it into a bow.
- Use the needle and thread to stitch the bow to the blank spot on the wreath.
- Hang your wreath on the wall, and welcome spring in style!
