Spotify made the ultimate work productivity playlist. We need this today.

It’s on. The work week is happening and if you’re just back from a long weekend, you may need a little extra help kicking it into high gear.

Here’s a tip: Employ your headphones. Spotify enlisted music expert, Dr Anneli Haake,, to prove that grooving out at your desk increases productivity. Not surprisingly (hey, they’re a music platform) they found that over a third of people surveyed use their playlists to get them through the day—motivating them they to perk up, survive the daily rut and drown out coworkers.

Basically, streaming music at your desk is the modern day equivalent of whistling while you work. That’s right, Snow White did it, and we can too.

With that in mind, Spotify gifted us with a 9-5 power mix —compiled from user favorites—to get us “working for the weekend.” No, that ’80s one-hit wonder didn’t make the list. Neither did Dolly’s “9 to 5” (Wha??).

So which musicians did make their playlist? For starters, all of our biggest pop queens: Adele, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Beyonce. We’ve got some smooth Bruno Mars goodness, a little bit of Pharrell, Daft Punk and some solid rock, a la Arctic Monkeys. But don’t listen to us, listen to this, and get cranking. We can do this.
