Kirsten Dunst just threw very polite shade at the new “Spider-Man” movies

For the third time in 14 years, Spider-Man is getting a reboot. Honestly, Kirsten Dunst doesn’t really care.

The newest iteration of the beloved Marvel comic stars Tom Holland as the titular teenage superhero, also known as Peter Parker. While the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming is part of the ever-expanding Marvel cinematic universe, it’s still nearly impossible to talk about it without comparison to its predecessors starring Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, respectively.

In an interview with Variety to promote her new film The Beguiled, Dunst — who played Mary Jane Watson in the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy — revealed that she’s not really interested in the new reboot and girl, we kind of get it.

“I don’t care," Dunst told Variety. “Everyone likes our Spider-Man.  C’mon, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones.

While her answers may seem *way harsh* it seems less like Dunst is trying to directly shade Holland and Zendaya (who stars as Peter Parker’s new love interest, Michelle), and more like she still carries a torch for the Spider-Man films she was in. Dunst, who admitted to Variety that she hasn’t seen the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spiderman films, revealed how much she loved the Spiderman films she starred in.

“I wanted to be in that movie so badly, she said. “I loved it, and I wish we could have made a fourth.

While we’re excited to see the amazing things Holland and Zendaya do in their version of Spiderman, we can definitely understand Dunst’s not wanting to see the reboots, especially since the reboots have occurred not long after Dunst finished playing Mary Jane. Plus, it doesn’t seem like Dunst was *quite* ready to say goodbye to the iconic character.

While we look forward to Spiderman: Homecoming, we’ll definitely be working on the art of polite shading, something Dunst has definitely perfected.
