Drop everything: The Spice Girls might be reuniting!

The Spice Girls are maybe, possibly getting back together, and we have no idea how to process this much excitement and adrenaline and just general “oh my GOD” emotions. According to Now Magazine, Emma Bunton (aka Baby Spice. . . but you knew that) recently met up with Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Mel B (Scary) — which apparently led Emma to drop a hint we’re dying to be true.

“We love each other and we love performing together,” Bunton told Now Magazine, “It’s just when the timing is right because we all have our own careers now and we have families, it’s just about getting five schedules together and that’s all it is.”

Here’s hoping that the timing becomes right ASAP, because this reunion would be the stuff of dreams. Our favorite girl band’s first hit single, Wannabe, turns 20 next year (yes, it’s been that long, and yes, we are horrified by how quickly time goes by, too), which would be the perfect excuse for them to grace us with some fabulous new tunes and/or at least a few more concerts.

The Spice Girls last reunited for a world tour from late 2007 to early 2008, where I shamelessly attended in the nosebleeds of LA’s Staples Center wearing pigtails and an overpriced concert t-shirt — and we’re ready for another go round. The girl group also reunited at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics and they absolutely slayed, so we know they can still handle performing for a big crowd (as if we could ever doubt them). Plus, the ladies are all just as fabulous as they were when we first fell in love with them in the ’90s!

Emma also told Now that the Spice Girls have a ton of unreleased music — which is giving us major heart palpitations, because can you imagine a bunch of ’90’s tracks just randomly coming out today? We would definitely listen to the radio a lot more. Either way, we think this at least warrants a “Greatest Hits” re-release with a couple new songs, right?

We know, we know — we’re totally hanging on to a thread over here. But we like to dream big at HelloGiggles, and we’re holding out hope that Emma’s hint has a hint of truth.
