Remember when the Spice Girls blew our minds at the 2012 Olympics? Because we’re still not over it
Tonight is the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, and it’s making us nostalgic for the 2012 Olympics. You remember, it took place in London, and as the stadium went dark, all our middle school dreams came true, when the Spice Girls reunited for one night only to perform at the 2012 Closing Ceremonies.
Posh, Ginger, Scary, Baby, Sporty — they were all there!
And after TOO long of a break, they spiced up our lives! So hard!
They pulled up in classic London cabs, and we were all freaking out!
We love how each cab reflected each Spice Girl. Ginger was, of course, in a Union Jack. Baby came in pink. Posh came out in classy black. Scary was in fabulous leopard pattern. And Sporty had blue and white.
They all looked amazing!
We especially love Ginger’s British Wonder Woman look.
Talk about what WE want, what we really, really want!
Oh yeah, and then they stood on cars and sang WHILE DRIVING!
Can we just point out that we would barely be able to stand on a moving car while clutching onto something for dear life, let alone while in heels and singing?!
We were SO happy to see these ladies haven’t lost their fierceness or moves!
It’s like they climbed into our deepest dreams and designed the performance based on that.
