This spa-themed amusement park is coming to Japan and it’s strangely enticing

When we think of amusement parks, they don’t necessarily evoke imagery of rest and relaxation, but that’s precisely what the creators of this spa-themed amusement park in Japan have in mind. Yes, the same wonderful place on Earth where people bathe in red wine and take long soaks in soup-scented bath powders is in the process of creating a magical place on the planet where zen-seekers and adrenaline junkies can come together like one big ol’ wired up, chilled out family.

So, how does this arrangement work? Like, does a team of masseuses await visitors at the exit to each roller coaster to massage the kinks and cramps out of their tensed up muscles? Well, not exactly. According to Mashable, future patrons of Beppu City’s “spamusement park” will actually be able to soak in a tub while riding a roller coaster.

If you’re wondering how TF this crazy idea even came about, the city’s mayor Yasuhiro Nagan kicked off a social media challenge a week ago, promising to construct the park if the YouTube video that shows the entertainment complex in all of its quirky glory hit more than one million views.

After video surpassed its goal of a million views, Nagan’s office issued a press release confirming that the project will begin construction.

Needless to say, we can’t believe this is real life but we do however believe that this is yet even more confirmation that a move to Japan should be on our long-term to-do list.
