Did Sophie Turner just tease a Taylor Swift cameo in “X-Men: Apocalypse”?
Taylor Swift’s always been our superhero, but now has she actually become one in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse? ICYMI, the newest film in the franchise will be taking place in the ’80s, and Swift’s rumored to play the mysterious hero, Dazzler.
Like any good superhero, Dazzler has unique, amazing powers — she’s a mutant and can make sound vibrations into energy and light beams. Back in the day, she was created to be cross-promotional between Marvel Comics and Casablanca Records. Basically she already sounds like what Taylor Swift does on a daily basis, so this is no-brainer casting.
Who leaked the latest hint, though it’s the best possible kind? None other than Sansa Stark!
Sophie Turner tweeted a pic of her character, Jean Grey, with Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jubilee (Lana Condor) in a record store, and what album do they pick up? Why a Dazzler one, Sounds of Light and Fury.
And you may remember hearing that some of the cast, including Turner, and X-Men: Apocalypse producer/writer Simon Kinberg saw Swift in concert last year.
So, really, would any of us be surprised if Swift makes a cameo? We hope the rumor’s true — there’s really nobody who would be better than Swift as Dazzler, after all, she’s got real-life experience!
The only hard part now is waiting to see if the rumor is true (there’s no confirmation yet,) since X-Men: Apocalypse isn’t out till May 27th. Of course, sources have already chimed in saying the rumor isn’t true, but we’re still holding out hope because the casting would just be too perfect.
Hmm, time to go play Swift’s 1989 (like we need a reason) to get search for any more possible clues to this rather dazzling mystery cameo…
