The first images of Sophie Turner (in a red wig) from the “Game of Thrones” Season 7 set are here

When we last saw Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) on Game of Thrones, she’d successfully transformed into the Lady of Winterfell with half brother, er cousin, Jon Snow reluctantly taking his place as King in the North. And as Game of Thrones Season 7 filming gets well under way, we’ve been left to wonder what will happen to our favorite Westerosi citizens next year – because we’re impatiently waiting for a sure-to-be-epic battle between Jon Snow and the Night’s King like Arya Stark waiting to get her hands around Cersei’s neck. In the meantime, however, we have plenty of fun images straight from set to keep us satisfied, for now…

Here are the very first images of Sophie Turner, in a beautiful red wig, preparing for her role as Sansa Stark.

As you can see she’s just heading to and fro the makeup trailer with Thrones bro/cousin Kit Harington, and not far behind is Bella Ramsey (Lyanna Mormont) and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth). However, the FUN thing about these images of Sophie are the appearance of her RED WIG!

Why is the red wig interesting though?

Well, believe it or not, Sophie, in previous seasons, actually dyed her hair that famous auburn red for the part of Sansa. In an interview with Marie Claire, when asked if she dyed her hair for Game of Thrones, she responded,

"I do. I'm naturally blonde, so [right now] this is like fading auburn. I like the auburn."

So it’s interesting to know that she’s not dyeing her hair for Season 7 of Game of Thrones, but donning a wig instead. Perhaps she needs to keep her hair blonde for another upcoming role, or maybe she’s just tired of dyeing her hair? We’ve certainly been there. Sophie had dyed her hair platinum blonde earlier this year, which sent many fans ~oohing~ and ~aahing~.

And as you can see, Sophie’s hair is still very blonde underneath those red locks.

Gorgeous blonde or stunning auburn, we love Sophie (and Sansa) both ways and we can’t wait to see what lies in store for the newly crowned bad-ass of Winterfell in Game of Thrones Season 7!
