Sophie Turner met her celeb crush because of Joe Jonas, and the results were hilarious

It’s weird to think about famous actors having celebrity crushes like the rest of us, but sometimes, even famous people can get starstruck. And in a September 26th appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Sophie Turner shared a hilarious (and awkward) story about meeting her celebrity crush, Justin Bieber.

Turner is now happily engaged to singer Joe Jonas, but she told Corden that as a teenager, she was obsessed with Bieber. Her crush was so intense, in fact, that her mom even gave her a life-size cardboard cutout of her and Bieber as a gift for completing exams in high school. So when she met Bieber at a stranger’s house in Miami, she was understandably a little starstruck. Turner said that she and Jonas were being given a tour of the house when they met Bieber upstairs. He was, in her words, “shirtless in this, like, dark room getting a head massage” (lol), and she couldn’t contain her excitement.

"I was like, 'Hi, nice to meet you, Sophie,' like, played it cool, ran into the closet and, like, cried for five minutes."

Eventually, she told Corden that she re-emerged with Jonas, whom she had recently started dating, and Bieber asked Jonas to introduce her to him.

"Justin goes to Joe, 'Yo, Joe, I heard you got a new girl,' and Joe was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, there she is, she’s over there.'"

Turner tried to be charming in front of her childhood crush, but she greeted him with a move that was, well, a little less than smooth.

Turner’s first time meeting Bieber may not have gone smoothly, but at least she has a funny story to tell. And, to be honest, we’d probably have handled meeting our childhood celebrity crush exactly the same way.
