Sophie Turner once went to great lengths to hit on this Friends actor, and LOL

Now that Sophie Turner is officially married to Joe Jonas, we’re looking forward to seeing more of their quirky antics together. Even though they’ve only been together for a few years, it’s already hard to imagine a time when they weren’t an It couple. But, like all of us, Turner had other celebrity crushes before she met Jonas. And it turns out one of them was none other than Friends star Matthew Perry.

During a June 7th #BehindtheTweets interview for Twitter, the Dark Phoenix actress recounted the time she tried (and failed) to flirt with Chandler Bing himself. In the segment, Turner discussed a 2016 tweet in which she wrote: “Holy balls. Chanandler Bong himself is rehearsing his play right next to my home.” false

She went on to explain that, yes, Perry had been rehearsing near her home. And she was so excited to be near the actor that she hatched a scheme to talk to him. Unfortunately, her plan backfired, so this meet-cute never quite got off the ground.

“I would walk around the corner every day to go to my local Budgens, which is a great little supermarket, and I would walk around the corner every day and I would see Matthew Perry smoking a cigarette,” she remembered in the interview. “And I bought a lighter from Budgens so that I could walk up to him and offer to light his cigarette. And it was already lit, so that was just embarrassing.”

Turner added that she had tweeted about Perry on the off chance that he would see it and ask her out “on a date or something.” Needless to say, that didn’t happen. Hey, it happens to the best of us.

We’re trying to picture an alternate timeline where Perry and Turner hit it off. And we have to say, it’s pretty weird. In the end, it seems like it all worked out for the best.
