Someone remixed the “It” trailer with “The Cat in the Hat,” and it’s somehow still terrifying

In case you haven’t heard, some cruel people in Hollywood decided to remake the “It” mini-series (you know, the one with the murderous clown that still prevents you from walking too close to storm drains and attending children’s birthday parties to this day). Luckily, it’ll just be a movie and not another series, but we’re still terrified. The good news? We’ve learned today that someone decided to remix the “It” trailer with “The Cat in the Hat”, which upon first glance seems far less scary. The bad news? It’s just as scary. Brilliant, but scary. Noooooo.

Okay, so, first, a little boy is innocently chasing his paper boat down a stream of water near his house.

The boat goes down the storm drain, and, we’re like, oh no. Please no.

The little boy is down there looking for it (as if he’s actually going to go in there and get it?), and then BAM. The cat in the damn hat. WHY THE STORM DRAIN AGAIN?

So, then, we get a glimpse from the neighborhood. This part is nice. We see an old school Dakota Fanning (from 2003 The Cat in the Hat film) and some cute pink houses.

But, then, the cat in the hat comes back to terrorize the children as they are looking through old photos. AHHH.

It is set to come out on September 8th! So, prepare yourselves. Bill Skarsgard, who will be playing Pennywise, told Entertainment Weekly that Pennywise is still going to be terrifying: “It’s such an extreme character. Inhumane. It’s beyond even a sociopath because he’s not even human. He’s not even a clown. I’m playing just one of the beings It creates.”

If it makes you feel better, you’re definitely not alone in your clown phobia. Skarsgard says, “One of my best friends is completely traumatized by the original film version of It. He has a clown phobia, and he was maybe 5 or 6 when he saw it, which is way too young, and he had an older sibling who made him watch it. Now he’s scarred for life.” Yeah, us too. Sigh.

Is Dr. Seuss going to be ruined now for us too?! Agh. We hope not.
