Solange Knowles’ bridal steeze launches a thousand new wedding trends

Okay, so we know that we’re probably going to get red-flagged by a sinister government shadow agency for daring to print this, but we’re starting to think that Solange Knowles might just be the most stylish Knowles sister (or at least just as stylish). Case in point: The bad-assery of the 28-year-old singer’s New Orleans wedding this past weekend. We’re pretty sure Knowles’ nuptials to longtime man-friend video director Alan Ferguson just started a whole bunch of next-level wedding trends, the likes of which will be blowing up your Pinterest for months to come.

Forget barn weddings. You can keep your mason jar candle holders and “ironic” photo booth props. Pie instead of traditional fussy wedding cake? It all looks fairly passé in comparison to Solange’s big day, which, if the handful of teaser photos Beyoncé posted to Instagram on Sunday are any evidence, was an impossibly cool affair.

Exhibit A: Solange rolled up on a bike. In a white Stéphane Rolland jumpsuit. With a cape. And she somehow made all three of those things look simultaneously effortless and rad. We personally find it difficult to maintain even the tiniest moticum of dignity or composure whilst wobbling atop a moving bicycle. Forget adding a freaking cape into that equation. *shudders*

Exhibit B: Both she and Ferguson — very dapper in this shot, it bears mentioning — wore white, bucking tired old tradition while looking fly as hell. Solange slipped a quick costume change into the proceedings, hopping off her bike and into this sleek Humberto Leon for Kenzo number (complete with cape no. 2!) and a pair of gold cuff bracelets we would like to borrow, but probably couldn’t pull off. That cape, though. Seriously.

Exhibit C: Actually, the whole wedding party kicked it in white. Queen Bey and a whole cast of irksomely put-together friends and loved ones included. Peep this pic of the whole crew posing stoically in some attractively crumbling mausoleum, with Solange presiding front-and-center like a chill a/f Grecian deity, if you want to feel lame about your album full of “bridesmaids laughing totally candidly in front of this tree” wedding photos. This could be an album cover. It’s the Knowles family, so, maybe it is.

Exhibit D: Man candy. The dudes wore white too. And they were working it, maybe even better than the ladies. Jay, a guy whose steeze is usually on point anyway, made this all-white suit (shout out to that white bow tie) look not ridiculous, and actually pretty chic. Ditto to Solange’s son Julez, (rocking white platform sneakers with his suit,) who is probably poised to break more than a few tween hearts in years to come.

Summation: Solange knows how to throw a wedding, and maybe she could come style our entire lives? A girl can dream.
