The secret society of Starbucks’ PSL devotees
Do you love pumpkin spice lattes? Do you spend all summer longing for the chillier months to come so you can cozy up with a PSL and revel in all of its pumpkin-y, spiced goodness? Then you may have what it takes to join the secret Starbucks pumpkin spiced latte society for the elite PSL devotees. No, this is not a joke.
According to Fortune, the mysterious group is called the Orange Sleeve Society. PSL fans can receive an orange monogrammed cup sleeve to slip over their Starbucks cup and declare their love for the PSL to the entire world. Obviously, the society isn’t exactly *secret* anymore, but there’s still little known about it, other than the fact that it was definitely created by Starbucks.
Interested in being a part of the Orange Sleeve Society? There are two ways to join: Either get invited by a OSS member, or, after sending a club invitation to a friend, you can join yourself. You get a sleeve for free, along with a card that reads, “You love pumpkin. You love spice. Enjoy this knitted holding device.” WHY DOES RHYMING MAKE EVERYTHING MORE MYSTERIOUS?
There’s also a Twitter account devoted to the PSL, featuring the fall drink wearing orange sunglasses and doing all sorts of fall activities. (The PSL’s birthday, according to the Twitter account, is October 10th, so we can’t help but wonder if there’s something special happening that day.)
People have also been majorly pumped about their induction into the Orange Sleeve Society and have been taking to Twitter to share pics of their new sleeves.
Fancy, schmancy. BRB, gonna go get my sleeve.
