So many women are posting #DressLikeAWoman selfies, and here’s why

There have been a lot of confusing things happening at The White House since Donald Trump was elected into office, and one of the latest concerns has to do with the White House dress code.

According to a source who worked on the Trump campaign, the president reportedly prefers his female staffers to “dress like women.” Wait, what?

That is such an dated (not to mention sexist) attitude! Women have come so far when it comes to being accepted for who they are  (as opposed to feeling pressure to conform to an arbitrary standard of “feminine” and “female”). We thought we were well beyond the notion that women should wear dresses and skirts instead of pants. So much UGH.

But there’s a silver lining: A spirited #DressLikeAWoman hashtag has gained popularity on Twitter. As in, women around the world are taking photos of themselves wearing whatever they want, many of them in army and emergency worker uniforms, and captioning their photos with #DressLikeAWoman. HELL YES!

This sums it up in the simplest terms:

via giphyWe love the clear, simple, and clever way these women have opted to speak out against this ridiculous stance. These ladies are making sure it’s clear that this type of language and outdated attitude won’t be tolerated. EVER.

We applaud each and every one of you, and just might be posting a #DressLikeAWoman selfie of our own today!
