SNL’s “Last Christmas” rap with Chance the Rapper is way too real

This week’s Saturday Night Live musical guest, Chance the Rapper, didn’t just stick with doing the standard music performance. Together with Kenan Thompson, Chance the Rapper’s “Last Christmas” rap on SNL was all too real. The message? This is the last Christmas we’ll ever have we’ll ever have with President Obama and everyone who comes with him because because in January Donald Trump is becoming president. Four years of the Grinch. This skit is a throw-back homage to the 90’s stylings of Run-DMC’s “Christmas Hollis,” and Run-DMC even makes an appearance in the clip.

Thompson and Chance sing, “La-la-la-la-last Christmas /Buh-buh-buh-buh-Barack’s still here/ La-la-la-la-last Christmas/ Buh-buh-buh-buh-before Trump next year,” and also talk about all of the seemingly little things we are going to miss under the Trump presidency. It’s political, but still pretty amusing, either way.

“We got birth control under the tree / and we’re stuffin’ every stocking with legal weed!” is one of the most so-true-it’s-scary lines.

The funniest part of the sketch though might be Leslie Jones proclaiming her love for our favorite grandpa, or Vice President Biden. Who wouldn’t want to eat ice cream with Joe underneath the mistletoe and give him a big hug? (In a totally non-creepy way obviously)

So give a hug to your mama, buy your legal weed, and get gay married. Enjoy your last Christmas with the COOLEST President and Vice President we’ve ever had.
