“SNL” totally nailed what it feels like going out with your girlfriends like every Halloween

Saturday Night Live is an institution that has been around for a long time yet keeps finding ways to stay relevant in today’s television landscape. Their political satire is biting and gets people tuning in every Saturday to catch a glimpse.  The show has been on a roll these past few weeks with their election coverage and outstanding impressions by both Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon.

They have also been nailing their digital pieces as well, like this week’s homage to the age old experience of what it feels like to go out with your girlfriends on Halloween.

The video shows Aidy Bryant, Vanessa Bayer, and Cecily Strong getting ready to go out. And just like with our friends in real life — promises of “no drinking” and “taking it easy this time around” are made. As the peaceful setup for the joke is solidified, we get to see the punchline right away.

The video cuts to what really happens to these girls later that night and it’s a beautiful nightmare that we have all, at some point, lived out.

Everyone is unsurprisingly wasted, looking for cabs, pizza and a guy to bring home, which is all pretty typical Halloween fodder.

Ain’t that real life, ladies?

The recent sharpness of SNL‘s digital videos can be attributed to the brand new head-writing duo of Sarah Schneider and Chris Kelly. Not only do they sound like a mixed gender crime fighting team — they have a lot of experience under their belt and are generating some seriously hilarious sketches.
