From Mail Chimp to Kris Kringle, SNL creates a perfect Christmas parody of ‘Serial’

Watch one of the best sketches from last night’s Saturday Night Live featuring perfect impressions of Sarah Koenig by Cecily Strong, and the voice of Kyle Mooney as Adnan Syed. Both are spot-on and hilarious. If you are one of the millions who listened to the podcast SNL‘s Christmas Serial digital short hits all the important marks like Dana, the audio of Cristina Gutierrez, and that darn Nisha call. While there is nothing funny about the real life events covered by Koenig every week on Serial, SNL manages to take the dark story, sprinkle a little holiday magic over everything, and create an investigative look into an elf named Kris Kringle (who allegedly leaves presents in people’s homes). I can’t even begin to get into the how funny their version of Jay (Jingle) is.

The Serial sketch was by far my favorite, but I HAVE to give a shoutout to Mike Myers’ amazing Dr. Evil comeback, because he’s got some very, very insightful things to share with us about the Sony hack. I mean, evil IS his profession, after all.
