This very basic Snapchat feature just got way easier to use

It’s like Snapchat is reading my mind. Every time I open the app and try to add a friend, it takes me an embarrassing amount of time to remember how to even do that. Even now, without the app open beside me, I’m trying to remember. Is it in settings?

Well, now thanks to Snapchat’s mind-reading capabilities, I can use the app with confidence. As of yesterday, users now have their own personalized Snapchat URL to add friends. Insert sigh of relief here. It’s a feature that most social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter already offer, where you type in the website domain followed by the user you’re looking for’s username to access their profiles. Easy-peasy. Even I can figure that out!

Let’s break this down even more: Say you want your BFF  to add you. All you have to do is send them your profile link: snapchat.com/add/YOUR USERNAME. The new URLs are so. much. easier. way to add friends than manually entering in someone’s username in a search field or sending people your Snapcode.

Don’t know your personalized URL? Just download the latest version of Snapchat, drag down in the camera view, click “add friends,” and then click “share username.” Bam. There it is. I feel like by sharing this information with all of you, I’m doing a great public service. Now it’s time to celebrate by playing with some of the filters.
