The thing about Sloane’s reaction isn’t that it is earnest (which it definitely is), but rather that she just had no idea how much money she’d actually get for winning the U.S. Open. It is a pretty prestigious title to have. And it doesn’t hurt that the paycheck is pretty incredible.
