Slick Woods confirms she went into labor during Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty show, and gave birth afterwards like a queen

Rihanna made history at New York Fashion Week on September 12th by compiling one of the most diverse and body-positive fashion shows the event has ever seen. Rihanna cast dozens of models of all shapes and sizes to present her new lingerie collection, including not one, but two pregnant models. And we later discovered that one of those models was experiencing contractions during the runway presentation.

TMZ originally reported that model Slick Woods was rushed to a nearby hospital the second she stepped off the runway, which was later confirmed by the model herself. On Friday, September 14th, Woods announced on Instagram that she was indeed in labor while she calmly marched down the runway.

"A lewk, 14 hours of labor, and A king is born. This is the face of a WOMAN IN LABOR, we hold shit down most of us don’t even know how much we’re going through, I’m here to say I CAN DO WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT WHENEVER THE FUCK I WANT AND SO CAN YOU. Thank you @qualityresusqueen and the Fenty family for taking such good care of us," Woods wrote on Instagram.

Woods previously announced that her son’s name is Saphir and the baby’s father is fellow model Adonis Bosso. Woods told Elle U.K. that she and Bosso are elated.

"I hear sob stories about baby daddy drama," she told the publication. "Being 21 and my baby’s father being excited is just step one. There are girls who don’t even have that."

Many women hide their pregnancies from potential employers for fear of discrimination, which makes it so much better that Rihanna embraced Woods’ due-date.

"Women are the strongest people on earth. Our bodies alone are made to do so many different things and they're designed in so many different unique ways. If you have the blessing to be able to bring life into this world it should be celebrated as well," Rihanna told E! News. "I'm never going to tell a woman she can't have a job with me because I can't have a pregnant lady [modeling] lingerie or makeup. I'll always celebrate women in all of their journeys."

Wow, as if we weren’t obsessed with Rihanna enough. Congrats Woods and thank you Rihanna for being a progressive dream boss.
