Skype just upped their emoji game in a major way
If you ever wanted to have conversations via Skype chat that is as chock full of GIFs and pop culture references – read on!
The free video chat service has overhauled its emoji platform, now making it possible for users to not only send a kissy face or an angry face, but a short clip of Miss Piggy. You read that right. They’re called “Mojis” and Skype is banking on them being the next big thing,
“Mojis are short clips from your favorite movies and TV shows that you can put directly into a Skype chat when words aren’t enough to capture for that ‘ah-hah,’ ‘haha,’ or ‘yikes moment,” the company stated on its blog.
You can tap the emoticon and browse Mojis (aka movie clips) on their database. When you find one that perfectly expresses how you feel, drop it in the chat and voila. Skype plans to include short clips from films like Despicable Me, Pitch Perfect, Jurassic Park, The Muppets, and perhaps the best news of all – Bridesmaids.
For those who don’t want to use the new mojis, old-fashioned old emoticons are still acceptable. But why wouldn’t you want to send endless Fozzie Bear mojis to every single person on your contact list?
Check out this quickie video that shows you had to throw a Miss Piggy moment into your regular convo.
