Your inner skater girl is freaking out, because Vans and Karl Lagerfeld are collaborating

It seems that this week’s solar eclipse helped the sartorial cosmos to align for two epic fashion universes: Karl Lagerfeld’s eponymous line and Vans. That’s right, the mastermind behind both Chanel and Fendi is teaming up with the skater-friendly brand for a clothing and footwear capsule collection, marrying together both lines’ iconic appeal into a hybrid style of covetable merchandise.

Expect to see Vans’ classic checkered pattern get the Lagerfeld face lift (literally), with a cameo likeness of Mr. Lagerfeld replacing said checks.

Also prepare for bouclé fabrics, quilted details, and all the panache upon which Mr. Lagerfeld prides himself.

The collection will harness six of Vans’ classic shoe styles, from the Sk8-Hi laceless platforms to the iconic Slip-On. A bomber jacket, backpack, and a T-shirt bearing Lagerfeld’s likeness with a checkered tie have all been promised as well, WWD reports.

While neither Vans nor Karl Lagerfeld are known for being the most cost-conscious brands on the planet, the prices for the collection are more than fair at a range from $40 to $300. After all, we’re expecting some high-quality pieces here, people!

No sneak peek images have surfaced just yet, but fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to see the capsule collection in its entirety. The Karl Lagerfeld x Vans collection will be on display at the Bread & Butter trade show in Berlin come September, WWD reports, with the goods hitting both brands’ e-commerce sites and select stores thereafter.

Given both brands’ proclivity for creating killer clothes, we’d advise keeping a close eye on this line when it launches, because there’s no way this capsule won’t sell out.
