Two sisters just majorly raised the bar on the wedding toast

As of today, Kelsey and Maddie Hallerman have set a new precedent for the “best wedding toast ever.” From now on, to earn that accolade from fellow guests, toasts need to be set to music. Make that, a musical medley. Yes, these two sisters-turned-bridesmaids took it upon themselves to create an absolutely awesome five-song medley with lyrics they invented to honor their sis Caitlyn, who was literally a blushing bride the entire time.

Kelsey and Maddie began the musical amazingness by claiming that it’s their turn to take the stage. “We’ve been living in your shadow but it’s time for us to step into the spotlight,” one sister said, grinning. And we have to say, they totally kicked ass. After their introduction (Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One More Reason”), they described Caitlyn’s childhood to the tune of Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.” “When you were a little kid, you didn’t want boys around,” they crooned. “You challenged them to any sport and won without a doubt.”

Then, to the always-amazing “Everybody” by Backstreet Boys, they described Caitlyn and groom John’s meeting at USC — and their first date. “Was he a gentleman? Yeeeeahh,” they sang (and yes, the crowd sang “Yeah” too, because that’s 100% necessary obviously). Then, the dynamic duo sang about the proposal to the tune of Michael Jackson’s “Black and White,” and the wedding day (the gospel hymn “O Happy Day”).

With awesomely cracking vocals, it’s clear that perfection wasn’t the point of this performance: FUN was the point, just how it should be. It’s so wonderful to see how much these three sisters love each other, and it almost makes us want to try this whole new approach to the wedding toast on for size.

Incredibly, the sisters wrote the whole, epic 5-minute medley the week before the Lake Tahoe wedding. Pretty impressive considering they totally bowled over Caitlyn—and the Internet. Apparently Caitlyn’s new husband was pretty amazed, too.

“It was hilarious,” Kelsey told ABC7. “If he didn’t know what he was signing up for before that, he certainly did then.”

Comedy, heartfelt love, and classic hits all in one? Yep, the bar for wedding toasts has been raised to the max.
