A third “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” movie could be happening “sooner rather than later,” and sign us up
One of our favorite girl gangs might be getting back together, and there’s no one more excited about it than us. According to Entertainment Weekly, a third Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie could be happening “sooner rather than later.” Sign. Us. Up!
The news came straight from a source close to the project: Amber Tamblyn. She said a third Sisterhood installment has been “in development for a while.”
“I have very high hopes for it happening sooner rather than later, she told EW.
Us too, Amber. Us too!
Believe it or not, the first movie of the series came out over 10 years ago, back in 2005. And the second one came out just a few years later in 2008. So it’s definitely time for a third movie. We can’t wait to see all four women reunited once again — Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, and Alexis Bledel.
The four on-screen besties quickly became off-screen BFFs too.

Judging by other recent events offscreen, the powers of the “traveling pants” seem to be working IRL. Just this month, Bledel won an Emmy for Outstanding Performance by a Guest Actress for The Handmaid’s Tale.
Meanwhile, also this past month, Ferrera and Tamblyn had op-eds published in The New York Times. Naturally, the public-at-large noticed the timing of all these successes and, as a result, the following tweet then went viral.
