Alexis Bledel says Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 has officially been pitched, and we’re crossing our fingers and toes
We’ve missed Bridget, Lena, Carmen, and Tibby. But we might be able to see them again soon: Alexis Bledel confirmed that Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 is closer to happening than ever. The movie franchise, which also stars Amber Tamblyn, Blake Lively, and America Ferrera, began in 2005 and had a sequel that followed in 2008. So a new installment would find our favorite foursome well into adulthood.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was originally a young adult novel by Ann Brashares. There are six books in the series, which means there are a lot more stories a movie could tell. Anda third movie has been talked about (and, let’s be real, begged for) for years.
While making an appearance on The Tonight Show on Thursday, April 27th, Bledel took the opportunity to address the rumors head on. “Can there be another one?” Jimmy Fallon asked.
"We just pitched a third movie, and I hope it comes together," Bledel revealed.

She also confirmed that she’s still quite close to the other ladies in the cast, even though it’s often hard to get everyone together.
"We don't get to see each other a lot, cause everybody's work and family and everything, but...when everybody's in town, we do," she said.
Hopefully, she’ll be able to see Ferrera soon — the Superstore star is expecting her first baby any day now. She’s the last of the core four to add “mom” to her growing resume, and we’re definitely hoping their children grow as close as they are.
We’re glad that the wheels are in motion, and just like Bledel, we hope that Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 becomes a reality.
