Singer Jewel is in a Hallmark movie called “Framed for Murder” and we’re dying to watch it
Singer Jewel is set to star in an upcoming movie about a house flipper who takes it upon herself to solve a murder mystery.
She’ll portray Shannon Hughes in Framed for Murder: A Fixer-Upper Mystery, and the songwriter will also produce the movie.
The movie is an adaptation of a series of novels by Kate Carlisle, the Fixer-Upper Mysteries, and will air on The Hallmark Channel.
Jewel’s character renovates Victorian homes in the small resort town of Lighthouse Cove, and ends up involved in a murder mystery when her friend dies. Shannon suspects foul play, so she takes on the role of an amateur homicide detective and teams up with a crime reporter (The Vampire Diaries‘ Colin Ferguson) to find out what really happened.
Jewel is actually not new to acting. In the past, Jewel has appeared in reality shows, CSI, talent shows, and a biopic about the late Johnny Cash.
Framed for Murder may end up becoming a franchise of TV movies, and we think they sound perfect for one of those weekend nights when we absolutely refuse to get out of bed for anything other than a wine refill. (You know exactly what kind of nights we’re talking about.)
