This simple organization trick will make your house feel more relaxed
Color coding has always been an easy way to organize things from clothing, to play toys, to shoes, to books. It may seem a bit over the top, but the outcome is always gorgeous. Although there isn’t scientific proof that color coding can create a more relaxing atmosphere in your house, the resurgence of decorating your house according to color is popping up all over the place. Apparently, displaying books in an array of hues and colors can create a more organized and visually appealing environment.
Where you live is where you spend most of your time, so why not make it the most appealing and comfortable environment?
Mind Body Green talked to Dr. Sally Augustin, a design psychologist, who confirmed that color coding has a positive effect on your house.
"It can make us feel more relaxed and comfortable...color coding may also help people find a certain item more quickly, which cuts down frustration," Dr. Augustin said.
As a result, specific color categories can encourage creativity and peace.
What sort of colors are the most impactful when looking for a mood boost?
Dr. Augustin says, “Seeing colors that are not very saturated but relatively bright, such as a light sage green, is relaxing.”
Green, particularly emerald green, “is energizing,” and she said that green can even boost creativity. Additionally, the combo of blue and white puts you in the right frame of mind to get your work done.
What else can you do to improve your space?
Dr. Augustin recommended adding a bit of greenery by including plants into your office or home. Moreover, natural light and fish tanks are beneficial to your mood as well.
