This is why beauty addicts are totally confused by Simone Biles’ Olympic medals
A few days ago, Olympic gymnast extraordinairre Simone Biles posted a photo on Instagram of the whopping five gold medals she won in Rio. But given the shape of the perfect wooden cases and their bronze coloring, they kind of resembled makeup palettes. You know, as in compacts and bronzers.
This led to a slew of comments from people on the internet, including an actual makeup artist who thought they were highlighters!
Granted, they really do look like brand new makeup palettes. Some people even noticed this resemblance back when the official Olympics Instagram account posted a photo of the gold medal in its packaging – before the games started.

Okay, so while gold medals are amazing and everything, it’s kind of disappointing that official Olympic-inspired makeup doesn’t already exist.
So maybe… the cosmetics industry should collaborate with the Olympics Committee to produce a line to accompany the merchandise that’s already sold by the bucketload? For the next Olympics perhaps, because there’s clearly a demand for it! Fans would go absolutely CRAZY.
Young Olympians like Simone Biles could even promote it! Hey, it’s a no-brainer.
