Simone Biles standing next to Shaq looks like an optical illusion, but that’s just actually them
Wait a second — why didn’t we spend the weekend in Houston again? Oh yeah, real life happened, which meant feeding our Super Bowl-induced FOMO from the comfort of our couches while scrolling social media and wishing we were on hand to see Simone Biles and Shaquille O’Neal take a photo together in person.
Seriously, if Biles didn’t share this photo with Shaq on her Instagram, we’d swear this image of the two Olympians posing side by side during the star-studded Super Bowl LI festivities was the handiwork of a Photoshop expert. The drastic difference in their respective heights makes it look completely surreal (and also extremely adorable).

According to E!, 4-foot-9-inch gymnast and the former NBA player met on Sunday before the game at Houston’s NRG Stadium.
Since sharing the photo on Instagram, it’s racked up almost 400,000 likes and a ton of comments from fans freaking out over the height difference. Some pointed out the fact that Biles still looks incredibly tiny standing next to O’Neal although she’s wearing heels. Of O’Neal’s huge hands, one commenter wrote, “His hand is bigger than her head,” which is pretty incredible and probably also true.
While many are pegging Biles and Shaq’s photo as the Best Super Bowl photo ever (we agree), the 19-year-old Houston native appeared to have had the best Super Bowl weekend ever, attending parties in her hometown and rubbing shoulders with the Patriots, USA swimmer Conor Dwyer and other celebs, including John Legend and Taylor Swift.

Ugh, we’re fangirling over Simone so hard it hurts. Clearly, she enjoyed herself and regardless of her tiny (powerful, mind you) stature, she still stands out as one of the most incredible, brightest stars in the crowd.
