#SignsYoureARealAdult is trending on Twitter, and the responses are TOO REAL
When a hashtag starts to trend on Twitter, it’s usually for one of several reasons: Someone is in the news, something major is happening politically, or a bunch of people are sharing jokes with a fun trending hashtag. When the originator of the #SignsYoureARealAdult hashtag posted the first tweet, we’re guessing they were expecting a lot of cute, relatable tweets like, “Lol, pizza for dinner” or “Adopt ten cats YOLO!” In actuality, the hashtag inspired a bunch of depressing AF tweets about the harsh reality of being an adult. Call it the 2017 effect, but these tweets are rough!

“You can go anywhere, do anything, and stay up as late as you want, but you’re just too damn tired.”

Okay, but they weren’t all bad. Some made us chuckle “Lol, same.”

“You’re annoyed that this hashtag doesn’t have the apostrophe in ‘You’re.’”
In this day and age, we can’t even have a fun trending hashtag without it getting a little too real.

There are currently 40,000 tweets using this hashtag, and that number is growing. The silver lining is that we’re all feeling the fatigue together. Being an adult is hard, y’all.
