Cut-out gowns were all the rage at the Critics’ Choice Awards and we’re still not over the sexy trend
We know award shows are about the actual awards, but side cut-out gowns were all the rage at the Critics’ Choice Awards and we’re still not over the sassy new trend. Yes, we are happy La La Land killed in the award category, but celebrity style is a BIG reason why we watch these shows.
On Sunday night, the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards took over Los Angeles and the red carpet fashion was on fire. The biggest trend — and our favorite — was the side cut-out dress. It was everywhere and on a variety of celebrities and came in different shapes, colors and sizes.
This Is Us star Mandy Moore, kicked off our favorite side cut-out gowns list with this sophisticated blue dress.
Moore opted for a sleek and chic number by Solace London as she hit the red carpet — or in the case, blue carpet.
She looked flawless in the sexy, plunge-neckline gown, and showed off a little extra skin with her triangle side detailing.
Emma Stone opted for a more dark and sultry look with her Roland Mouret gown. We love the mix of textures on this dress, from sequins on the top, to a velvet-looking material on the skirt. So high-fashion!
The La La Land actress posed with her co-star, Ryan Gosling, inside the show and gave us a better angle of her modern frock.
It’s like a red-carpet version of the bandana top, with a statement skirt, which might seem strange, but we are obsessed with it.
18-year-old actress Ariel Winter channeled her inner Kardashian with this look. Her gown was full of beading and sparkles and was only heightened by her new bangs.
Winter’s side cut-out detailing was actually a continuation of her sheer, open-back style.
The Modern Family actress looked gorgeous in black and sexy as can be.
Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard paid homage to the trend with a tiny glimpse of a cut-out on the side. Her mustard colored dress was bright, colorful and by Topshop!
While Nicole Kidman didn’t don a side cut-out gown on the carpet she did have a major cut-out in the middle that we just love.
The 49-year-old actress looked chic, trendy and totally classic at the same time with her Brandon Maxwell gown that showed just enough skin.
Slay, ladies, slay!
