Guys, it looks like we might be getting more “Shrek” movies!

It’s been over 15 years since the first Shrek premiered in theaters, because apparently time moves stupid-fast. However, it looks as though time is not done with our favorite grumpy ogre.

Deadline reports that following its acquisition of DreamWorks Animation, Comcast is hoping to create up to four animated movies a year, though it’s currently unclear how many of those movies will end up being part of the Shrek franchise.

The news was confirmed by NBC Universal’s chief Steve Burke, who added that Chris Meledandri of Illumination Entertainment “is creatively going to try to help us figure out how to resurrect Shrek and take a lot of the existing DreamWorks franchises and add value as we create new franchises.”

We can’t help but wonder what direction they could take with the onion-like character and his donkey sidekick. After all, the franchise has already released a spin-off and three sequels, ending in Shrek Forever After — so what comes after “forever after”? And will the full original cast — Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, and Antonio Banderas — be involved in this revival?

So many questions, so few answers, but we’re smiling at the thought of getting to see Shrek and Donkey adorably argue once again.
