ModCloth Cat Shirt Dress, $80
I’m loving ModCloth’s new fall arrivals, and I debuted this striped polo dress the other day with a pair of white loafers. I felt very “back-to-school.” And it has a little embroidered maroon cat on it! It gives the dress a perfect, extra dose of zest. This might just be my new fall uniform.
Cochine White Jasmine & Gardenia Diffuser, $70
I have a lot of candles in my apartment, but the one thing I’ve never used is a diffuser. Until I tried Cochine’s white jasmine and gardenia diffuser. I put four of the rattan reeds in it and put it on my side table in my living room. It made the room instantly feel fancier. The notes of jasmine, gardenia and peony made me feel like I was in a posh penthouse with a garden terrace, instead of my modest one bedroom (with no garden terrace).
Farmaesthetics Nourishing Lavender Milk Moisturizer, $39
What I love most about Farmaesthetic’s Nourishing Lavender Milk is that it’s a rich, all-over body moisturizer, but it’s also lightweight enough to use on my face. Rarely do I find a moisturizer that I can slather all over my dry legs that ALSO works on my sensitive skin face. Scent is also super important to me in a lotion—I’m a bit of a Goldilocks. I don’t want too strong of a scent, but I also don’t want a fragrance-free lotion. This airy lavender scent is juuust right.
Avène 3 in 1 Make-Up Remover, $20
Last week or the week before, Emily handed me this Avene tube to try, because these are the perks of being a website editor sometimes. People hand you goos and creams and tell you to give them a whirl. So I did, because I actually love French drugstore brand Avene, and I’ve been playing around with makeup removers lately, trying to find the best ways to remove the ten thousand layers of eyeliner and mascara on my face. I like this formula because it’s gentle and super hydrating. If you don’t have oily skin, you don’t even need to wash your face afterward (hence the 3-in-1 product description), but since I do, I opted for a quick cleanser scrub. But still, before going to bed, my face felt smooth and soft and eyeliner-free.
Pygmy Hippo Shoppe Pencil & Notebook Earrings, $24
During my weekly Target shopping trip (I go even when I don’t need anything — Target just soothes me), I picked up a composition notebook just because. There’s something so stress-relieving and wonderful about writing in a brand spankin’ new composition notebook (college ruled only! Wide ruled is for BABIES), and now, you can wear your love for composition notebooks on your ears! This notebook and pencil earrings from Pygmy Hippo Shoppe will let you express your love for back to school shopping, even if you’re an adult who hasn’t gone back to school shopping in years.
Zara Jacket with Floral Embroidery, $49.90
Time to start looking for a new, comfy cardigan! I’m loving this one from Zara; the embroidery gives it a cute, feminine flare.
