Welcome to Want/Need, a weekly roundup of the things our Deputy Editor, Emily Popp, is currently coveting. It might be a pair of pink leather loafers that make her feel like she’s got her s*#t together, or a pool float in the shape of an avocado (because she’s not over the novelty pool float trend). Or maybe it’s as random as, like, dryer sheets. Basically this is all the stuff she’s obsessed with. Poppy’s picks, if you will.

Followers, schmollowers. It’s easy to get caught up in that Insta life, chasing likes and followers. But at the end of the day, it’s #FriendsOverFollowers forever.

Calidad Beer

Credit: Calidad Beer

Years ago when I lived in New York City I was at a party and a guy offered everyone a beer but me, and asked if I’d like rosé. It was textbook stereotyping, and while it might have been a misguided attempt at being accommodating, I was offended! I would like a beer thankyouverymuch. And look, I do love a glass of rosé, but that doesn’t mean I’m not well-rounded. I’m actually very much a beer girl, and I’m always trying to discover new kinds. My latest beer obsession, by far, is this brand called Calidad (brought to you by the same entrepreneur who gave us Alfred Coffee and Tea, my fave). It’s a light and crisp Mexican-style beer that’s perfect for chilling out on a warm spring Saturday in Southern California. They’ve also just got really cool branding (no surprise here, Alfred Coffee is known for its aesthetic). It’s just very…hip. They even have a cool line of merch where they sell everything from prayer candles to rolling papers…what did I say? Hip AF.

Gucci Bloom Eau De Parfum Spray

This is going to sound like a weird humblebrag, but I have a really good sense of smell. And so that makes me super picky about my perfumes. I like something light, floral and not at all cloying. I only have a few perfumes I keep in rotation over the years, and Gucci’s Bloom is my favorite “special occasion perfume.” I wear it when I want to feel a few notches fancier than I normally do. When I was just out of college I used to window-shop and browse Barneys in New York, and I’d pass some woman wearing a MaxMara jacket and I’d get a whiff of her perfume, and it just smelled like “Fancy.” I was 22 and thought, I want to smell like that when I grow up! Well, dream it, do it, ya’ll. Gucci Bloom makes me feel like that ultra-sophisticated woman in Barneys.

Keds x Rifle Paper Co. Embroidered Rosalie

I’ve been obsessed with Rifle Paper Co. and their darling illustrations for years. I love all of their collabs, including this most recent one with Keds—another one of my favorite brands. I’ve worn Keds since literally as long as I can remember. So obviously I’m in love with this tennis shoe embroidered with Rifle’s signature floral design. It’s pretty much the perfect springtime sneaker.

OK this is a very specific problem I’ve had, but clearly other people have had it too because this product exists. Whenever I’m traveling, I try to balance my bag on top of my suitcase so I can have a freehand and it just never works out. This leather tag apparently hooks your purse to your suitcase, so your other hand is free to hold a Starbucks drink. Love it.

Warby Parker Madeleine Eyeglasses in Cherry Blossom Fade

I have terrible eyesight, and I wear contacts during the day but as soon as I get home I change into glasses. I’ve been a Warby Parker loyalist for years, and I think it’s time for a new pair of frames—I haven’t bought any in a couple years. I love this style in “cherry blossom fade.”

Rachel Antonoff Jessi Jacket

This jacket reminds me of something Kimmy Schmidt would wear, and I mean that in the best possible way.
