Kate Middleton has worn this comfy sneaker brand for years—and it's on sale
Move over, Supergas! Kate Middleton may have another favorite sneaker in the running. The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted wearing a pair of black Sweaty Betty x New Balance Vazee sneakers with red stripes to match her bold red knit while attending an event at Salthill Knocknacarra GAA Club in Galway, Ireland. If the style looks familiar, that’s because it is! Kate previously wore this pair in 2017 when she competed in a race against Prince William during a Team Heads Together London Marathon Training Day at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Both times, the Duchess of Cambridge coordinated her ensemble to her sneakers for a sporty-chic look.
Kate’s love for New Balance doesn’t end there: She was seen wearing another pair of NB sneakers while playing soccer with young girls at The Irish Football Association’s “Shooting Stars” program in Northern Ireland in February 2019. This time, Kate opted for a navy style to go with her athletic pants and lightweight blue jacket worn over a striped sweater.
Kate’s collection of New Balance sneakers continued at The King’s Cup Regatta, a charity sailing race, in which she competed head-to-head with husband Prince William in April 2019. For the event, Kate was seen wearing a pair of grayish-blue NB sneakers, proving the brand may just be her new go-to for comfy footwear. While Kate is often seen in classic white Superga sneakers when dressing more casually, she’s sneakily been wearing New Balance kicks for years.
If you’re looking to get your hands on a pair of New Balance sneakers like Kate’s, we’ve rounded up four of our favorite styles from the brand to shop now, including a reissued pair of the style Kate wore for the charity sailing race for just $80.
