You can now shop directly from Instagram Stories, and RIP our bank accounts

Ever tap through an Instagram Story and stumble upon a dress or T-shirt you just had to have? You’re not alone in this — and now, you can shop Instagram Stories directly. Instagram made the announcement on June 12th, and this sounds like serious trouble for our bank accounts. Did online shopping really need to be made easier?

According to Instagram, shopping Stories will be super easy: The next time you check out Stories belonging to a brand or a shop, you might see little tags hovering above certain parts of an image, kind of like the way shoppable grid posts look now. By tapping those tags, you can order the products, officially making it easier than ever to buy what you fall in love with on the app.

All you have to do is click the tag, which will give you more information about the product and the option to buy. That’s it. It’s that simple.

However, even with the introduction of this feature, Instagram still isn’t making cash when you buy things you see on the app. Instagram in fact confirmed to Mashable that it’s not making a commission on sales from Stories, so this is really just about making it easier for brands to get their products to customers.

“Instagram isn’t just a place of inspiration, it’s also a place of action, and we know that inspiration can come from anywhere,” the company said in a press release.

Hope your debit card is ready to go, because we have a feeling shopping on Instagram Stories is going to take off. We can’t wait to see this feature in action — Instagram says it will roll out starting with select brands and become more widespread soon. Ready, set, shop.
