The shirt Lauren Graham wore on Day 1 of the “Gilmore Girls” revival has a special name
In just two and a half days, the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls hits queues all over and we are squealing with excitement! Due to the AMAZING press tour the cast and crew have been doing leading up to the release of the revival, we’re not only learning juicy details about the original run, we’re also getting the scoop on set secrets from the revival.
Exhibit A: Lauren Lauren Graham revealed a detail from the first day on set of the revival that is bringing tears our eyes — in a nostalgic way, of course. On the Ellen Degeneres Show today, she told Ellen that the shirt she wore during the first day of filming is a charming metaphor for the revival.
Graham told Degeneres,
“On the very first day, I was so nervous and I couldn’t decide what to wear because it was the scene where you first see my character. I kept changing, changing, changing. Finally, I had to go so I picked something off the rack, and it was a little bit big, and my dresser pinned it in the back. I had thought I had a pin in my back and she came and cut the tag off. The tag from the shirt I picked on the first day playing this character for the second time and the tag says, ‘Lorelai 2.' The shirt was called the ‘Lorelai 2.’
Literally, EVERYTHING about the Netflix revival has been a work of chance happenings mixed in with a little magic.
Graham continued,
“It became such a symbol for me of all the special, magical, incredible things that had to happen for this to come together and there were a bunch of those and I kept a diary and wrote about it.
Being the incredible author she is, we hope Graham plans on turning her on-set diary into a book. Of course, we’ll definitely buy! We’re sure Lorelai is such an important part of Graham and it’s so fitting that she put the “Lorelai 2” shirt on. We’ll definitely be looking for it when we watch the show!
