Except that with a general lack of red carpet occasions in our everyday lives, we wouldn’t exactly have a place to wear said red carpet dresses. But thanks to our style hero Shay Mitchell, we’ve just discovered a new red carpet look that’s totally office-chic and ~just~ the thing our work wardrobe’s been missing.

Lo and behold: the crushed velvet pantsuit. It’s a perfectly trendy fabric worked into a classic silhouette.

And while it may look a little more fall-appropriate, trust us on this one: This two-piece velvet suit will definitely keep you looking cool *(but feeling nice and toasty)* in chilly offices 365-days a year. Score!

Ms. Mitchell donned the sleek Frame number to the Shorty Awards in New York City earlier this week, pairing the navy “Mod Blazer” with a buttoned-down white blouse. As for the bottoms, the cropped flare cut of the coordinating trousers gave a youthful vibe to this sophisticated silhouette.

With such a powerful pantsuit, the Pretty Little Liars star kept accessories to a minimum, slipping on a few gold rings and a pair of pointed toe Jimmy Choo pumps.
