Shannen Doherty walked the red carpet days after chemo, and we are so inspired
Get ready to dry your tears, friends, because Shannen Doherty’s strength and bravery will definitely have you welling up.
The actress, who began chemotherapy for breast cancer in July, walked the red carpet at the Stand Up To Cancer telecast last week — just days after her recent treatment — and she looked radiant and determined.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the event, she said:
"Cancer has in a strange way done some amazing things for me. It's allowed me to be more me, like much more in touch with who I am, and much more vulnerable and the person that I always was, but I think it got hidden behind a lot of other stuff."
Of her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, who was by her side at the event, she added, “My marriage was always fantastic, but it’s even better now.”
Doherty has been sharing her cancer journey with her fans on social media since she began treatment. Her photos are powerful and show what she calls “the many faces of cancer.”

After the Stand Up To Cancer event, she wrote on Instagram:
"This night meant so much to so many people including myself. I'm forever humbled by the stories I heard tonight and the people I met. ... I feel blessed to be a part of the cancer family tonight and to [have] witnessed such love."
Doherty’s oncologist, Dr. Lawrence Piro, says the actress should be finished with chemo soon. We’re wishing you a speedy recovery, Shannen!
