Shannen Doherty shares eye-opening video from her surgeon’s office, continues to fight cancer

Since her breast cancer diagnosis, Shannen Doherty has been sharing her journey on social media. Through her incredibly personal posts, she has shown her strength, weakness, and her utter will to kick cancer in the ass. On Thursday, Doherty shared a video from her reconstructive surgeon’s office, and it’s truly eye-opening.

Doherty has been so open about shaving her head, chemotherapy treatments, radiation, and now her reconstructive surgery.

She’s been allowing the world in for a glimpse of what it’s really like having cancer, and that’s so important.

In her latest video, Doherty is at Dr. Jay Orringer’s office to increase the size of her expander. She’s getting ready to undergo radiation, which will shrink it.

"Getting my expander expanded by my reconstructive surgeon @jayorringermd and the lovely Ana Marie," Doherty wrote. "I consider myself very lucky and very blessed to have this man as my doctor. The last couple of days have been busy gearing up for radiation. #warrior #fightlikeagirl #cancerslayer"

Doherty certainly isn’t alone in her fight. She has the undying support of so many of her friends, many of whom have posted their encouragement on social media. Last week, for instance, the cast of 90210 had a reunion Doherty wasn’t able to attend. Jennie Garth (AKA Kelly Taylor) posted a “Fight like a Brenda” image on Instagram.

Garth wrote, "to my soul sister @theshando strongest lady i've ever known. then and now. i used to be threatened by your spirit, now i'm in awe of it. you've taught me a lot about speaking my mind and not being afraid of my power. i'm so grateful that young me got to be friends with you. but especially "old" me! the best is yet to come on this crazy journey!! love you! #fightlikeagirl #fightlikebrenda #aries

Chelsea Handler has also been showing support for her friend on social media and on her show Chelsea. Doherty was a guest on the show a couple of weeks ago and had a very emotional discussion with Chelsea about her cancer.

We’re continuing to send the most positive and healing thoughts Doherty’s way.
