Shake Shack is adding a second chicken offering to its menu

Back in 2016, Shake Shack introduced the world to its first-ever chicken sandwich, the Chick’n Shack. Originally known for its burgers, hot dogs, fries, custard, and milkshakes, the chicken sandwich would test new ground for Shake Shack. In fact, according to CNBC, a subsidiary of Shake Shack had reportedly filed a trademark application for a “chicken shack” back in 2015, but Shake Shack would not confirm its existence at the time. We’re guessing they were still on the fence.

Fast forward to present day, the Chick’n Shack became the chain’s third highest-selling item. So, what is there left to do for the rapidly expanding chain? Why — introduce another chicken sandwich to the mix, of course!

They call it the Hot Chick’n, and as you might have guessed from the name, it’s hot, hot, and spicy! According to a release from the company, the new sandwich consists of:

“...[a] crispy chicken breast dusted with a guajillo and cayenne pepper blend and topped with slaw and pickles.

Uh yeah, we want that ASAP! Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a little while longer. The Hot Chick’n will make its debut August 1st at Shake Shack locations nationwide (though it’s available at some locations this month), but customers can place their orders through the Shake Shack app as early as July 28th. But, as most good things go, the Hot Chick’n is only around for a limited time. So, get your fill before it drops off the menu.

In the meantime, we can look longingly at photos of the dazzling new chicken sandwich.

Our mouths are watering, and our stomachs are growling. Totally unfair!
